Amazing Spaces was founded in 2000 by Julia Finnis-Bedford, a former stills producer who recognised the need for a professional, curated approach to film and photoshoot locations in South Africa.

From a single idea to an industry leader, Amazing Spaces now represents more than 600 locations across Cape Town and Johannesburg  — each handpicked for quality, style, and story.

Our role goes beyond listing properties. We negotiate on behalf of our clients, manage logistics on the ground, and ensure every production runs seamlessly.

With 25 years of experience and a reputation for integrity, we’ve become the trusted partner of local and international production companies, photographers, and advertising agencies.

Julia started Amazing Spaces in 2000 after a time of being a freelance stills producer in the film industry and ‘saw the gap’. There was no such thing as a location agency then – and she knew in her gut that this was going to be her thing. Julia is a classic Enneagram 7 – the ‘Enthusiastic Visionary’ – who loves a new challenge or project and pours her all into anything property – be it locations for shoots, properties for sale, or the latest property development or renovation project. She is a passionate entrepreneur who believes in her WHY which is doing what you love, and empowering people. She surrounds herself with a can-do team who believe in the brand.

HAYLEY
AGNEW

General Manager

Hayley (better known as “H”) has been with Amazing Spaces for more than 15 years. Hayley has a work-ethic, speed, and customer focus that is exceptional and quite frankly, our secret sauce. Hayley understands our clients and their briefs, and delivers on her promise. She instinctively knows what locations suit the brief, and is a master at making the clients’ budgets work. Scouts trust her to the degree that if she tells them to go to a location (without even having sent images), they go without question.

Client Service, New Locations Expert

With over 17 years of service, Renee has a deep understanding of what locations work in the market, what we still need, and what questions to ask at the tech recce. She looks after all our existing locations, is the ‘face’ of Amazing Spaces visiting our clients on set, and knows all their ‘quirks’. She also signs up and briefs all our new locations.

Renee is extremely good with people, and listening, making the client feel like they are No 1. Her superpower is finding the very best locations, and living the Amazing Spaces brand by being so incredibly passionate about locations and their owners.

Benita is in the perfect seat at Amazing Spaces as she has an incredible attention to detail – always a good person to have in the position of accounts! Affectionately known as “B”, she is highly dependable, and quietly observant. We are very lucky that she is studying her MBA as she brings a helicopter view on the business and systems, making us question old processes – always a good thing in a 23+ year old company! She cares deeply about the outcomes, which is so important to us as she lives the company values daily.

Claudia is a passionate young lady who brings a vibrant energy to our team, with her favourite word being that she is OB-SESSED with all of our amazing spaces! She is an award-winning photographer and a social media whizz-kid, bringing a wonderful new look to our content creation which reflects our brand promise. Claudia is not shy to suggest amazing new possibilities for Amazing Spaces and the brand, which we so needed after 23+ years in business. We love her enthusiasm and energy which has elevated our position in the time she has been here.

PETERSEN

Admin Assistant

Cay is in charge of all our images and uploading to the website, our other platforms, and our internal databases. She is always willing to help, taking on tasks that are outside of her job description – which we love about her. She is our go-to if we don’t know who to ask! Cay has fast become a key member of the team, fitting in and making herself indispensable. She is all about process and systems, and often has to nag us for the details she needs. We are grateful for this kind of personality in our team!
